Olivia
Dayton Ohio, August 5, 2024
Olivia by Michael E. Bowers paints an engrossing and intricate picture of a family shattered by events beyond their control. You’ll be on the edge of your seat the entire time because of the compelling and emotional plot. Olivia is a page-turner that you’ll have a hard time putting down.
Bowers’ story begins with Olivia's grandparents and various characters; each chapter expands upon the backgrounds of her family. Olivia’s characters are authentic and relatable, allowing you to accompany Allen on his journey of redemption. The support and love he received from loved ones was heartwarming.
This story is masterfully written and embraces themes of young love, poverty, sex, and drugs throughout.
“Olivia by Michael E. Bowers is a psychological thriller and modern-day tragedy that delivers an emotional gut punch. The pace was exceptionally effective, akin to a roller-coaster that takes you up slowly, only to drop you suddenly like a collapsing building and leave you in ruins.”
